Handcrafted by shino-yaki artist Wakao-san, this chawan embodies the quiet beauty of Japanese tea culture. Its soft, milky glaze and warm, earthy texture create the perfect vessel for enjoying your Japanese matcha ritual. With no wasted clay, this vessel remains incredibly light, only adding to the drinking experience.

One of the best known ceramic styles from the Mino region, shinoyaki chawan are still prized by tea masters today.

This one of a kind piece comes in a custom wooden box signed by the artist.

Kokeigama

Tucked away at the top of a quiet hill in Tajimi, we were very lucky to discover Kokeigama’s kiln, stumbling upon their work in a local ceramic museum in Tajimi. After purchasing one of his Akashino yunomi and learning Wakao-san was a local craftsman, we got the kiln's details from the museum staff and visited the very next day.
