YUGEN has worked in partnership with Tokoname-yaki artisans to create a teapot for optimal brewing conditions. The shallow design reduces the movement of the tea during its brew, helping to reduce bitterness and retain the tea's natural sweetness.  

Tokoname-yaki teapots are made from clay that contains a lot of iron oxide, which is said to react with the tannins in the tea when used, removing the bitterness and making it mellow and delicious.

The more you use the teapot, it will produce a deeper, more lustrous the flavour of brew.
