Keshō Hagi Yaki Teacup
Keshō Hagi Yaki Teacup
This beautifully rustic teacup features carved lines at the foot and a scattering of orange momiji spots. The scattered momiji spots create a pattern often referred to as keshō, meaning makeup. The orange pops against the cool grey ash glaze.
As each item is handmade, slight size, spotting and colour variations may exist between items.

Senryuzan Kiln
For nearly 200 years, Senryuzan Kiln has been a custodian of traditional Japanese ceramic craft. The small collective of artists honours the traditional spirit and cultures of Hagi yaki.
Each Senryuzan Kiln vessel is crafted using traditional Hagi yaki clays, techniques and ash glazes before being wood fired in their climbing kiln.
Every piece represents their traditional approach to Hagi yaki.
