This Akashino (red shino) sake set is a true celebration of the Shinoyaki ceramic style. The traditional, warm red glaze has long captured the attention of Japanese ceramic lovers. One of the best known ceramic styles from the Mino region, shinoyaki ceramics are still highly regarded across Japan.

Tucked away at the top of a quiet hill in Tajimi, we were very lucky to discover Kokeigama’s kiln, stumbling upon their work in a local ceramic museum in Tajimi. After purchasing one of his Akashino yunomi and learning Wakao-san was a local craftsman, we got the kiln's details from the museum staff and visited the very next day.
