The furoshiki is a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth. It is a light and casual cotton square cloth that can be used every day. Despite being thin, it is durable and easy to carry, making it versatile for a daily shopping bag, as a handbag, or wrapping bento boxes and gifts.

Each of KAMAWANU's furoshiki is dyed using a traditional Japanese hand print method that soaks through to dye both sides of the fabric. The edges are hemmed, unlike the tenugui, which is traditionally unfinished.

Caring for Tenugui & Furoshiki

As each furoshiki is hand dyed, the colours may run. Wash it separately from other items for the first few washes. We recommend washing your furoshiki by hand without detergents. Allow to dry completely before packing away or in your bag.

KAMAWANU

Bringing life and colour to a traditional daily item in Japan, KAMAWANU live by their philosophy to “revisit the old to create a new way of playfulness". The patterns on their designs are fresh and modern, yet inspired by historic Japanese aesthetics. KAMAWANU tenugui and furoshiki are made to last, even with daily use.
