These beautiful Japanese cutting boards are hand planed by skilled craftsmen. It is a delicate process to create the smooth finish with efficient drainage. The planing blade is adjusted and sharpened many times throughout the process. Hiba wood cutting boards are incredibly long lasting and their antibacterial properties help to repel mold and mildew.

Small: 310mm x 210mm
Large: 395mm x 210mm

As each piece is handcrafted using natural materials, each piece may vary slightly in terms of grain.

Caring for your hiba cutting board
Spray the cutting board with water before using to create a film of water on the surface, which will prevent odours from penetrating the cutting board.
Spray with water, then wipe off excess water before use.

After using the cutting board, wash it with water and detergent as soon as possible, and let it dry naturally by leaning it up so that the grain of the wood is vertical in a place out of direct sunlight.
If you want to sterilise it, wash it with detergent, drain it, and pour boiling water over the surface to sterilise.
