Andon Triangle Paper Lamp
Andon Triangle Paper Lamp
On our most recent visit to Japan, we had the pleasure of meeting the artisan behind Asano's gorgeous paper lamps. As a certified Master of Traditional Crafts, she had been perfecting her art form for over 20 years. Each lamp is handcrafted in their Gifu warehouse with incredible skill and dedication. Carrying on traditional crafting techniques, every Asano lantern is a modern embodiment of the traditional Japanese lamp.
The Andon Triangle was design in collaboration with Daisaku Choh, known for his architectural and furniture design. His work contributed to the furniture design of the International House of Japan.
The lamp is 20cm wide and stands approximately 30cm high.
All electrical components are ready for safe use in Australia and certified by an Australian electrician.

Asano Shoten
For over 100 years, Asano Shoten has been skillfully crafting traditional Gifu lanterns, passing on the skills of the craft from generation to generation. Continuing to protect and nurture the elegant and delicate chochin craft, Asano sources only premium local materials before handcrafting each lamp in their Gifu workshop.
Breathing renewed life into an ancient craft, Asano Shoten has developed a series of minimalist lanterns to complement modern lifestyles. Remaining stubbornly particular about Japanese paper lamps, they maintain traditional techniques while continuing to create contemporary designs.
