Size

Doi and Nagaya aim for their work to feel complete in the moment of its use. This goal is most brought to life in their stunning flower vases. Adding your own floral arrangement finally completes the piece. 

These handthrown ceramic vases have a subtle colour grain as the clay swirls throughout the piece. Each vase is made with the appropriate weight at the bottom to withstand unique or asymmetric arrangements and ikebana-inspired installations. 

Each vase is individually handcrafted on a potter's wheel. Slight variations will exist with each piece.

They create a range of modern ceramics with an element of traditional sensibility. They value simplicity that leaves room for the user. They aim for their work to finally feel complete in the moment of its use.

Looking to combine the collaboration and support of larger kilns with the creative freedom of being solo artists, Doi and Nagaya created 3rd Ceramics. Through their partnership, they strive to create simple products that make people’s lives just a little richer.

Meeting Doi and Nagaya gave a wonderful feeling of familiarity. Their passion for exchanging views and sharing art with others immediately resonated with the OKAERI’s vision.

After a tour of their studio workshop, it was clear their beautiful works were a fantastic fit.
